charges in the shooting death of a
hunter in Pulaski County.

27 year old Richard Aaron Duncan
was shot and killed earlier this month
in the Hiwassee community, about 10
miles south of Pulaski.

Kenneth Barry Altizer.
According to a search warrant,
Altizer told officers he snorted the
prescription drug Lortab the day of the
shooting.

in Amherst County.

located to the jail's partners: Amherst

But some of the 12-thousand or so
area residents don't like it ...
arguing that residents of the area
should be enjoying the central
location, not the inmates
County planners agreed and denied
a request to rezone the land for public
use and to make a jail part of the
area's comprehensive plan.
But the supervisors had the power
to overrule them ... and they did.
The county's option to buy the
land expires in March and they'll vote
next month whether to rezone it for
public use.

And he's decided to call it quits.

chemist, but he still manages to teach
a class every now and then.
Yesterday afternoon Fisher's
co-workers and students threw him a
birthday party - he hit the centennial

The Professor insists now says
he's retiring, but plans to make an
occasional visit.

against a woman who was arrested after
a fatal shooting in Roanoke.

Nov. 9 39- year- old Mendy Phelps was
taken into custody on November 9th
after the car she was driving crashed
near the intersection of 8th Street
and Hanover Avenue.
Police say the man who was riding
with her, 38- year- old Reginald
Killingsworth, shot and killed Z- mart
owner, Zaid Almajali (AHL- muh- JAH-
lee) , during an attempted robbery
minutes earlier.
Phelps was accused of eluding
police. Authorities have added a charge
of attempted robbery, principle in the
second degree.

confirm Troy Leon Goad is behind more
than 100 break-ins and thefts.

Goad turned himself in back in
October and is facing more than 100
charges in Grayson County alone.
