the road for Thanksgiving, and many of
them will be traveling through central
and western Virginia.

This morning Interstate 81 was
busy, but not yet overcrowded with
holiday traffic.

Virginia State Police and the
National Transportation Safety Board
are encouraging travelers to wear their
seatbelts.

Last year, 20 people died on
Virginia Highways during the long
holiday weekend, and authorities say,
16 were not wearing their seatbelts.
