OQ=...a good year." << The Blue Demons were the last
(END SOT) team to beat Hidden Valley 24-to-8 back

on November 3rd.

After a scoreless first quarter,
the Titans finally got on the board as
Brian Asquith rolls out and finds
Nelson Musselman for the seven yard
touchdown. The Titans take a
6-to-nothing lead after the missed
extra point.

Then with time winding down in
the second quarter, Asquith runs to his
right, then throws across his body to
an open David Turner, and the sophomore
tailback will scamper down the far side
for 40 yards all the way to the Blue
Demons 7 yard line.

Two plays later on a third down,
Asquith runs the quartebrack draw and
gets stopped just shy of the goal line
as time continued to wind down.

The Titans decided to go for it
on fourth down, but again the Blue
Demons stop Asquith - only this time he
laterals to Turner before he's wrapped
up and the Titans take a 12-to-nothing
lead at the half.

Early in the third, Asquith will
again find Musselman in stride down the
farside of the field. And the speedy
sophomore will pick up 64 yards on the
pitch and run into the Blue Demons red
zone.

Later in the drive on a fourth
down, Asquith looks again to Musselman,
but the ball is picked off by Sid
Brown, and the Blue Demons defender
will take it from his own one yard line
down field. The zig-zagging return

will net 36 yards before he's brought
down.

But the Titans were too much as
they own the rematch. Asquith passes
over the middle to a wide open Kris
Savoie for the touchdown.

Hidden Valley still hasn't
allowed a point in the playoffs as it
beats Chriatiansburg 19-to-nothing for
the Region Three, Division Three title.

Rockbridge County would take the
opening drive and gobble up 8 minutes
of clock on a 16 play march. Steven
Strowbridge takes the handoff and digs
his way for 11 yards on this carry.

The Wildcats would then cap the
drive as Marcus Mayo's pass to Jeff
Early out to the left flat is good for
a first down to the Lee 6 yard line on
the 12 yard play.

Then with another fourth and
goal, Mayo hits the line and drives the
pile in for the score. Rockbridge
takes a 6-to-nothing lead.

The Wildcats would take over from
their own 41 and Mayo will call his own
number, hit the line and he will pick
up a dozen yards on the carry as the
Wildcats continue to control things.

Several plays later from the two,
Terrell Fitz pounds his way for the
score. The Cats take a 12 to nothing
lead after the failed two point
conversion.

On their first possesion of the
second quarter Lee would try to get off
the mat as Alex Glen finds Shay

Nicholson. The two catch everyone off
guard and Shay rides the sideline for
60 yards to the house for the score.

Lee would keep coming in the
second, but Edwin White would fumble
deep in his own territory as the ball
pops right into the hands of Ian

Lebanon vs. Giles The Giles Spartans' some extra :00 incentive this afternoon as longtime
Spartan supporter and chain gang member
Joe Falls passed away this morning.

Giles would dominate from the
start. Andrew Fenstermaker, who got hte
first TD of the game would then take
off around the left side on this carry
and he will roll 28 yards to set up the
second Giles scoring play of the game.

Nathan Tanner breaks several
tackles up the right side on his way to
the endzone. Tanner scores from the 24
and the Spartans lead 14-to-nothing
with 4:53 left in the first quarter.

On Giles' third possession the

Spartans again prove that they are all
business as Tanner takes the ball from
60 yards out of the single wing and he
will head up the left side and right
into the endzone. It's 21-to-nothing
Giles with 2:49 left in the first
quarter.

Now in the second quarter -
Tanner will hit the sideline again.
This is another one to the right side
as it goes for 24 yards and another
touchdown. The Spartans take a
28-to-nothing lead early in the second.

Lebanon would try to avoid the
shutout and somehow get into this thing
as Drew Helbert takes off on 57 yard
touchdown dash for the Pioneers -
cutting the lead to 28-to-7 - but it
was only cosmetic.

Now in the second quarter - Giles
will try to get one last shot into the
endzone. Tanner connects with
Fenstermaker on the pass along the
right sideline. It's a 23 yard setup
that pushes the ball deep into Lebanon
territory.

Tanner would then cap the drive
with the pass to Evan Lidgard rigth
before the half.

Two plays later Coles would try

defense rises up in the red zone as the
Hawks' defense stands tall and forces a
field goal attempt.

Goochland would line up for a 20
yard field goal, and the Bulldogs would
knock it through to take a 3-to-nothing
lead on the Hawks in the first quarter.

The Gretna defense made another
big statement in the third. Brian
Jordan scrambles and he cannot escape
Demario Younger - who comes up big for
the Hawks on this play.

That forced the Bulldogs to
settle for another field goal. Nathan
Whitly knocks it through from 32 yards

Riverheads vs. William Campbell The Gladiators would win the :00 opening coin toss to start this thing

In the first quarter, Campbell's
Baron Adams will make this pateral pass

a sure TD, but he is knocked out on the
four yard line.

Two plays later, Adams gives it
to Andrew Davis, who takes it in for
the two yard touchdown. The Generals
take a 7-to-nothing lead, and I think

most folks felt like the rout was on.

The Generals' defense reinforced
that line of thought as Jacob
Hutchinson's pass to Justin Brake is
punctuated by a wicked Jovon Herndon
hit as Brake gets jacked up on the
play.

But give him credit - Brake held
onto the ball and his senses. A couple
of plays later he catches this TD pass
in the corner of the endzone and the

game at 7-all.

Now in the second quarter -
Riverheads will keep coming as Billy

William Campbell would back with
