packed and there are lines of cars
getting into the area.

And it's been that way
pretty much since the mall opened at
Six a-m.

Some of the department stores
even opened their doors as early as 5
am.

The shoppers we spoke with said
it was worth it getting here early
because they were able to find some
good deals on their Christmas gifts.

Now we also spoke with mall
management and based on previous years,
they expect roughly 5 million people to
come through this mall between the

beginning of November and the end of
the shopping season in December.

With that volume of people
out here, you can only imagine what
that means to parking.

The mall is down 365 spots due
to construction, but this week, they
opened the lower level near JC Penny to
help accommodate shoppers.

But this parking crunch has
been somewhat of a challenge for those
shoppers eager to hit the stores.

Now there are a few changes
out here at Valley View that you should
know about.

Number one: shopping hours have
been extended today until ten pm.
tomorrow 8 to 10 and Sunday 9 to 7.

And additional holiday
hours are posted inside the mall.

Also traffic patterns have
changed to accommodate the influx of
shoppers. Anyone driving east on
Valley View Boulevard can no longer
make a left turn by the Red Robin or
Smokey Bones Restaurants.

Mall management says this
is to ease some of the congestion.

He completed his latest stunt

yesterday afternoon, freeing himself
from this gyroscope above Times Square
in New York City.

Blaine had been inside the gyroscope
for 52 hours without food or water,
jumped onto a wooden platform and

cab.

The 33-year-old was dehydrated, but
not injured.

The stunt was part of a Target
promotion.

Today Blaine's taking needy 100

University of Miami has decided the
fate of head football coach Larry
Coker.

Last Night Despite last night's upset victory
over Boston College, Miami fired Larry
Coker this morning.

Coker spent six seasons at Miami.
He completed a 6-and-6 regular

season last night. The victory makes
the Hurricanes bowl eligible. If the
team is invited to a bowl, Coker is
expected to coach the game.

His team won a national championship
in 2001.
