and fire crews busy early this morning.

This Morning Police say a vehicle went out of
control around 3 a.m., flipped and went
through a porch on Harrison Avenue.
Arrests were made at the scene.
No one was taken to the hospital
for injuries.
Fire-EMS workers were able to
stabilize the homeowner's porch.

workers responded to an accident in
Franklin County last night.

It happened just before seven
o-clock on Bethlehem Road.
According to a first responder on
the scene there was a head on collision
between a mini van and another car.
Five people had to be rescued -
some of them airlifted to hospital.

today.

while for the smoke to clear in
Martinsville.
That's because starting today,
the water department will be smoke
testing collection lines throughout the
sanitary sewer system.
To do this, workers will have to
blow non-toxic smoke into sewer mains -
that way they can spot flaws or leaks.
The effects should be minimal,
however drivers are asked to be careful
around manholes.

finally come to an end...
And with that, so does the
"extreme chaos" along the highways.

Interstate 81 earlier yesterday
afternoon between Blacksburg and
Roanoke.
There were also delays on I-81
South in Botetourt County.
The airport was also reporting a
busy day yesterday - one of its busiest

people leaving the area.

But now, Nicely's Exxon in
downtown Clifton Forge is closing.

Owner Dennis Nicley borrowed 800
dollars in 1951 and opened his first
store.
Back then, gasoline was selling
for less than 30 cents a gallon.
Today, Nicely's is one of the few
full-service stations still serving
customers.
With dwindling profits, he says
it's time to move on.
