Mountain Road.
The teens all under 18 were
trapped for 45 minutes.
They all have been taken to
Roanoke Memorial.

Natasha, State Police are remaining
tight lipped but they are releasing a
little bit more information.

husband and wife were found shot to
death inside their home, one of them
worked for the Pittsylvania County
Sheriff's Department.

This was the scene around four
o'clock when the bodies were removed
from this home on Kentuck Road in the
Ringold section of the county.
Deputies responded this morning
to a well being check after a
Pittsylvania Co. sheriff's employee
failed to show up for work.
Once inside deputies found the
bodies of Tim and Pamela Jones.
We understand Tim was a
deputy for the Pittsylvania County
Sheriff's Office.
As a result, State Police were
called in and they are now handling the
investigation.

about a teenager who was killed Sunday
by an apparent drunk driver in Franklin
County.

Sunday 15-year-old Joel Wayne Nichols of
Glade Hill was the passenger in a
vehicle hit head on by 50 year old
Robert Gene Barker of Moneta.
Nichols died at the hospital,
while Barker was charged with D-U-I.
Now, Joel Nichols's pastor is
speaking about his life.

school were called off today while
teachers cleaned up the work of
vandals.

done last night.
Police say one or more people are
responsible - most likely teens.
They broke into several offices
and a classroom.
Authorities say they stole a
small amount of cash and a computer.
At this time school

for damaging more than a dozen vehicles
with b-b guns.

b-b's on Tenth Street, Oakland
Boulevard and Grandview Avenue.
The latest incidents come on
the heels of damage to more than a
dozen vehicles a week ago.

director was supposed to go on trial
today for alleged sex crimes.

Shrewsbury admitted to the crimes and
entered a plea agreement.

February that allegedly happened in August 2005
while Shrewsbury was the youth director
at Shady Grove Baptist Church.
Today, he pleaded guilty to
15 counts.
A probation officer will now
prepare a pre-sentence report.
In the meantime, Shrewsbury's
free on a 30-thousand dollar bond that
also limits his contact with children.

In a plea agreement, 40-year-old
Monica Yates pleaded guilty to animal
cruelty charges in connection to the
death of three-puppies at one of her
homes.
Under the agreement, she'll
receive a suspended sentence, 7-years
probation and have to repay a
Troutville vet who tried to help other
animals who were neglected in Yates'
care.
Even though she received a
suspended sentence, Yates will remain
behind bars.
She's accused of mismanaging more
than one-million dollars during her
time as a financial advisor.

their care.

after Martin Lee Anderson collapsed at
the Bay County Sheriff's Boot Camp in
Panama City.
The guards say on June fifth he
was uncooperative and refused to
participate in exercises.
He died the next morning.
The boy's death sparked

style boot camp systems and the
resignation of the state's top law
enforcement officer.

GRAPHIC=Fatal Accident In Alabama, a preliminary
investigation into last week's fatal
school bus crash indicates it was
caused by a faulty steering mechanism
on a passing car.

Now this was the scene last
week.....police say the faulty part is
believed to have caused the teen driver
to lose control of his car and veer
into the bus.
The bus then dragged a concrete
barrier before falling 30 feet over a
highway overpass.
Four teenage girls were
killed....investigators do not believe
there was any deliberate erratic
driving by the 17 year old in the car.
The N-T-S-B says its
investigators will return to Alabama in
three weeks to closely inspect the car
for mechanical failure.

identity case of a German man....who
claims the C-I-A held him captive and
tortured him.

the court to re-instate his lawsuit
alleging human rights and due process
violations.
A Federal judge dismissed the
case in May after ruling that a trial

El-Masri was born in Lebanon, and
claims he was mistaken for an associate
of the September eleventh hijacker.
He claims the C-I-A kidnapped him
and allegedly threw him in a C-I-A
secret prison in Kabul where he was
beaten and sexually assaulted during
his five months there.
The lawsuit seeks damages of at

ourselves with turkey and pumpkin pie,
some Virginia Tech students opted for
an alternative Thansgiving break.

VO-NAT They went to work in New Orleans.
These are pictures from their
trip to the Gulf Coast last week.
Sixteen students paid their own
way to assist with ongoing relief
efforts from the devastation after
Hurricane Katrina.
For some, this was their second
trip to the area.
The group worked five solid days
and gutted six homes.
The trip was part of the Y-M-C-A
at Virginia Tech's alternative spring
break program.
It has helped send students on
these types of trips for 20 years.
