Today, a group of daycare
students got to see first hand.. they
shared breakfast with a six ton
elephant named Luke.
The kids munched on animal
crackers and juice
And get this, the elephant ate 20
pounds of apples, about 15 loaves of
bread, twenty bananas and other
vegetables.
And that was just his morning
snack.
The students took pictures with
Luke before he took a nap.. to prepare
for tonight's circus.

The zoo is looking for ways to
develop some of its unused land.
And today a group of landscape
architecture students unveiled projects
they had worked on all semester.
The goal was to design exhibits
that focus on the natual wildlife of
Virginia.
The theme of the new exhibits
would be Virginia Wild and could
include cougars, bears, reptiles and
