County Police are investigating two
recent break ins on Hidden Valley High
School gorunds.

The first.. on October 14th.
Someone broke into the school, smashed
several office windows, stole eight
laptops, and damaged two others.
Then two weeks later on the
28th, several young people were caught
breaking into a concession stand on
school grounds.
When police showed up, a foot
chase ensued and three juveniles were
arrested.
It's unclear whether the two
incidents are related.

The court is hearing arguments on
whether school districts may consider
the race of students in assigning them
to public schools.
Parents in Seattle and
Louisville, Kentucky are challenging
the school assignment plans to do just

designed to keep schools from
segregating along the same lines as
neighborhoods.

got a dose of reality today as they
took in the latest plans for Reserve
Avenue: with a sticker price topping 50
million dollars.

there to be self-sustaining, and they
expect private investment to help pay
for much of the construction and
maintenance.
The current design includes a
kayak and tubing area, a competitive
swimming facility, a climbing area, as

amphitheater should be built, before
they decide what to put on the Reserve
Avenue site.

the death sentence of convicted killer
Percy Walton for a second time.
Walton is on Death Row for the
murders of three people in Danville
nine years ago.

of being executed when Kaine delayed
the sentence to review Walton's mental
status.
In a statement, Kaine says he
believes Walton does not fully
understand why he's been sentenced to

Walton's impairment is not permanent,
which is why he's not commuting his

degree murder charges after allegedly
slashing her sons throat.

alive for High School Football State
Championships and only 6 games left in
the entire season. All of them will be
played this Saturday.
That also means the Friday
Football Extra awards banquet is coming
up very soon, good food and good people
if I do say so myself. We will be
handing out a bunch of Football awards.

scholarships to a number of deserving
student athletes in the area to honor
our former co-worker Roy Stanley.
Roy was a fixture in the News 7
Sports department for 30 years and
someone who I watched growing up as a
kid in the Valley. Roy passed away in
2002 - since then we've been able to
raise money and hand out nearly 20
scholarships to honor him.
If your a High School Senior and
interested in being one of this year's
Scholarship winners. Then you need to
apply and do it quick. The deadline is
this Wednesday.
