The school broke ground today on
the Douglas and Beatrice Covington Fine
and Performing Arts Center.
It's a more than 22-million
dollar project that will house the R-U
Art Museum, a 350-seat recital hall.
The building is named for the
University's fifth president and his
late wife.
The project was paid for by
voters with the 2002 bond referendum.
Construction will start
immediately and the facility is
expected to open in the Fall of 2008.
