County dog breeder yesterday is resting
comfortably tonight.

Felter in a raid on her home this week.

The search warrant shows four "DEAD"
animals were seized, along with seven
"decomposed" animals.

The warrant also indicates, however,
that Nancy Felter had gotten county
tags and rabies shots for as many as 50
other animals.

She even has a kennel license.

Animal Control seized the Schnauzer
because they suspected it had a broken
leg. He came in wearing a make-shift
splint.

Doctor Jonathan Amos found TWO broken
bones.

That was the question put before
a Roanoke judge today during closing
arguments in a murder trial.

was convicted of voluntary manslaughter
for fatally shooting 20-year-old Robert

Meadows on July 10th.

*CG locator Roanoke The two argued in front of Hayslett's July 2006 home on the 900 Block of Ninth Street,
Southeast before it escalated into
gunfire.

A judge said even though the
deceased shot first, Hayslett still
fired his weapon while Meadows tried to
back away.

Hayslett could spend up to ten
years in prison, but some say that's
not enough.

Blacksburg Police got a call just
after 2:00 Sunday morning.

The caller said the Hokie Bird

Group was vandalized and taken into a
nearby apartment.

About a dozen of the birds had
been vandalized over the past few
months, but this is the first arrest in
the case.

Roanoke County Police have charged a

13-year-old female student for starting
the fire in a bathroom last month at
Hidden Valley Middle School.

While damage was limited mostly to the
bathroom, fire officials say the damage

non-profits in Western Virginia.

This morning the Council of
Community Services announced a new
program...the Nonprofit Resource
Center.

The resource center will provide
techincal assistance, education and

offer workshops and seminars.

The first workshop held today was
called, "Lobbying for Non-profits."

There are currently more than 500
non-profits in both the Roanoke and New
River Valleys.

The groups are said to generate
millions of dollars for the area's
economy and create jobs.

The sweet treat is 6-feet long,
3-feet high and weighs in at nearly 600

The kitchen staff at the West End
Market even used rock candy to resemble
Hokie Stone.

The chef made it for the students
to help take their minds off final
exams.
