wind... but no clear cause of a plane
crash in Halifax County.
A preliminary report from the
National Transportation Safety Board is
out, but there are still a lot of
unanswered questions.

October James Michael Williams was killed
when his amateur-built plane crashed
near the Halifax-Pittsylvania County
line.
Witnesses told investigators
Williams was trying to land at an
ultra-light field, when the plane
appeared to be blown offf course and
crashed in a wooded area.
The wreckage was found two days
later.
The National Transportation
Safety Board says Williams did have a
private pilot certificate, and reported
300 hours of flight time.
The weather at the time of the
crash included a low ceiling with fog
and five- mile visibilty.

hurt after a slab of concrete gave way
at a building under construction in
Arlington this morning.

It happened on the 24th floor of
a building just across the Potomac
River from Washington.
The fire chief says three of the
injured were in critical condition, and
four were in serious condition.
Fire officials say workers were
pouring concrete when a section about
60-feet by 30-feet collapsed.
About 200 workers were in the
building at the time.
All of them have been accounted
for.
Authorities said O-S-H-A was on
the scene.

Marshall" movie opens Nationwide on
Deember 22nd - two weeks from tonight.

Marshall alum, Todd Marcum, took
advantage of a special offer from Sam's
Club that allowed those with over $2000
bucks to host an early screening of the
movie.
A theatre full of Marshall
supporters filled the Valley View
Grande to see how The Big screen would
handle the 1970 crash of the plane
carrying the Marshall football team,
and the school's heroic rise from the
ashes.
We Are Marshall opens nationwide
on Friday, December 22nd and those who
saw it last night were impressed.

in Florida today. Snipes was returning
to the U-S to answer federal tax
charges.

The actor is accused of falsely
claiming nearly 12 million dollars in
illegal refunds and of not filing tax
returns for five years.
He was indicted in October, but he
was out of the country until today.
Snipes was released on a million
dollars bond. His attorney says Snipes
was the victim of bad tax advice.

11 years old, he delivered his baby
cousin.

Schneider Metellus is a
sixth-grader at an Intermediate School
in New York City-- and he took matters
into his own hands last.
He helped deliver his aunt's
newborn, Isaac.
His aunt had gone into labor in
the bathroom of her home, but the
11-year-old kept his cool and didn't
run.
And just as the baby was going to
fall on the floor, Schneider caught it.
He says he learned everything in
a pre-nursing class.
He later clipped the umbilical
cord.
Schneider says he doesn't
consider himself a hero.
