to register their e-mail address - just
like they do their mailing address -
could be on the way.

offenders in a statewide e-mail

GRAPHIC=WILDFIRE Fire crews are still on the scene

in Amherst County....trying to contain
the fire that has already scorched
hundreds of acres.

The fire near Peavine Mountain was
reported around 11 Sunday night.

Authorities say three separate
fires have burned more than 500 acres
in the area between Pera Road and
Hercules Road ... not far from the Blue
Ridge Parkway.

More than fifty firefighters have
been called in to help ... they spent
the day digging containment lines and
setting back fires- and more help is on
the way.

The fire is in a remote section of
the George Washington National Forest,
and officials say while some roads have

been closed, no homes are in danger.

and his wife, Hong Le, welcomed a
daughter into the family today.

Georgia LeAnh was born just
before one o'clock this morning at a
hospital in Fairfax.

Georgia's name comes from a
combination of Webb's grandmother, and
Hong's Vietnamese family name, and a

The two and a half year pursuit

now know what killed Ruby the tiger.

According to a post-mortem report
- Ruby's kidneys were below normal
limits of the healthy organs and she

high school's Norm Lineburg is a breath
of fresh air and then some.

Lineburg, who retired at the end
of the just completed season has
coached more game than any coach in
Virginia High school league history in
his 47 years as a head coach. His
teams won 315 games in that span - but
never did he coach up the importance of
winning above sportsmanship and respect
for your fellow man.

The Southwest Virginia Officials

association picked Radford over 40
other schools for this year's honor.

The Civitan Club also rewarded Radford
senior tailback and Linebacker Nathan
Viers with the annual Civitan
Scholarship.

fell out of a golf cart well taking
part in a charity event in Florida.
Now word comes out from his Team that
Johnson wasn't really riding in the
cart. He was actually riding on the
roof of the golf cart when he fell off,
breaking the wrist. Johnson is
expected to be fully recovered to try
and defend his Daytona 5-hundred win.

mission.....Space Shuttle Discovery
docked at the station today.

VO-NAT The shuttle did a slow back flip

to allow the international space
station crew to photograph its belly
for any signs of liftoff damage.

Sensors detected a "very low
impact" on the left wing, but there's
no visible damage so far.

Six of discovery's astronauts
plan to spend a week at the space
station to rewire its electrical system
and deliver a two-ton addition.

A seventh astronaut will stay and
live at the space lab for half a year.
