From early on, Princess Diana
introduced her sons to the charities
that were close to her heart. And even
after Diana was gone .. Princes William
and Harry, now 24 and 22 ... carried on
her work. Now they've announced a royal
plan to raise money for their favorite
charities .. with a concert for Diana.
(:19) ( Prince Harry) "it's just a
chance to sort of carry on what she
left behind." (:05) The concert comes
on what would've been Diana's 46th
birthday, next July. A month later her
sons are also planning a church service
on the tenth anniversary of her death.
(:11) ( Prince William) "we both wanted
to put our stamp on it. we wanted it to
represent exactly what our mother would
have wanted, how she was, so therefore
the church service alone isn't enough.
we wanted to have a big concert, full
of energy, full of fun, and happiness
which I know she would've wanted."
(:13) The princes pulled strings ...
and put together what promises to be a
memorable night (FILE/ELTON ) ... with
Sir Elton John on the program ... (FILE
DURAN) Duran Duran too ... Harry Sot:
(fast) Joss Stone ....... and some more
surprises that William and Harry
weren't ready to reveal. (:10) ( Harry
/William ) "it's not just any old
concert, it's gonna be different and
it's going to be interesting. if it
works it'll be brillant, if it doesn't
... you won't see us for a very long
time." (:10) The princes say it's a
tribute to their mother ... straight
from Diana's own living legacy. Tracie
Strahan, CBS News. (:07)
