Donnie Brown was Ferrum's student
body president in 1965 and he has
remained one of the college's most
vocal suppoters to this day. He and so
many others at Ferrum remember the day
the plane went down with seven former
Ferrum Junior College players on board,
along with a Marshall head coach who
got his start with the Panthers.
HANK NORTON
DONNIE BROWN
The seven players were all
teammates of Horace Green - the captain
of the 1968 national title team and the
MVP of the Junior College Championship
game - known at the time as the Shrine
Bowl. He didn't need a movie to help
him remember the friends he lost in
that crash.

GRAPHIC=HOLD FERRUM/MARSHALL The movie premiere takes place
tonight in downtown Huntington at the
sold-out Keith Albee Theatre. The
premiere will be much like the ones you
see in Hollywood in that Matthew
McConaughey and the rest of the stars
will be on hand, but the traditional
red carpet has been replaced tonight
with a rug that is Thundering Green for
tonight's event.
And if would like to learn more
about the Marshall plane crash and how
the program was eventually build back

This Season Flowers was a first-team All-ACC
:00 selection this year, as well, after
leading the conference in pass
breakups with 18. He also has 48
tackles, three interceptions and a
forced fumble. By making one of the
five nationally recognized All-America
squads, Flowers extends defensive
coordinator Bud Foster's All-American
streak to 12 years of having at least
one player make a squad. Vince Hall,
Branden Ore and Eddie Royal were
honorable mention picks.
