Danville police have arrested a man
suspected of the murder of Latrella
Bates.

July 2005 Police have arrested 24-year-old
Jason Ramon Jordan.

Danville police worked with
authorities in Arkansas and Georgia to
capture Jordan.

Latrella Bates was reported
missing in early July of 2005.

Her body was later discovered a
couple of weeks later off Franklin
turnpike behind the Unity Presbyterian
Church.

Jordan is now in the Danville
City Jail without bond awaiting trail.

alleged incident.

Durham.

Their accuser's pregnancy was
confirmed yesterday by a person
familiar with the case.

And at least two media outlets have
reported she gave birth last night.

hours after defense attorneys

filed a motion saying the woman mis-
identified her alleged attackers in a
photo lineup.

Saturday's championship rematch between
Wisconsin-Whitewater - and you guessed
it Mount Union.

This marks the 14th straight year
that the City of Salem has played host
to the D3 title game, and USA Today is
making sure people from one end of this
nation to other know all about it.

Both team hit the practice field
under balmy conditions shortly after
arriving in the valley.

Besides these workouts the
players will also visit with patients
at the V-A and some of tHe area's
elementary school students.

And speaking of students who also
are athletes - Jason Brehm dropped in
on the Salem Rotary Club to pick up the

division three player of the year award
- known as the Gagliardi trophy. The
Alma College quarterback from Michigan
is well balanced and mature beyond his
years.

the name game today.

In a traditional Chinese- naming
ceremony, zoo officials announced the
name of their 100- day old panda cub

Here she is taking her first steps.

Her brand new name is Mei Lan, which
means "Atlanta Beauty".

It was the top vote- getter in an on-

line poll.

Mei Lan is also the only panda born
at a U- S zoo this year.
