in Roanoke County has been found.

Last Night Authorities were looking for a
62-year-old man who walked away from
his home on Crowell Crow-el Gap Road.
That's in the southern part of
county near the Franklin County line.
Roanoke County authorities say that the
man was found at 2:19 this morning and
seemed to be okay.
He was taken to the hospital as a
precaution.

GRAPHIC=Fire, Apartment Investigators are trying to get
to the bottom of an apartment fire in
Blacksburg early yesterday morning.

Flames broke out at the Lantern
Ridge Apartments on Fairfax Road around
1:30 A-M.
For safety reasons police
evacuated the building, but the fire
was contained in a single apartment.
The damage is estimated to be at
about ten thousand dollars.
No one was hurt.

police sent a Lynchburg man to the
hospital.

Authorities say an officer tried
to pull over Eric Dion Mays Saturday
night due to an ongoing drug
investigation.
It's not clear what happened next
but police confirmed one of their own
drew his weapon and fired.
Mays was taken to Lynchburg
General Hospital and later transferred
to Roanoke Memorial.
Hospital officials are not
releasing his condition.

keep sex offenders off of school
property.

school officials in Madison County,
Virginia discovered a volunteer Santa
Claus had been convicted of ten-
violent sex offenses in New York.

away from home.

security check-points.
It's a policy thats caused some
inconveniences to several passengers.

TSA is also discouraging
passengers from having wrapped gifts in
their checked baggage because if
security personel needs to go through
those bags they may be forced to open
all gifts.
Other federal policies are still
in effect, including the 3-1-1 rule.
It means all liquids or gels in
your one carry-on bag must be no more
than 3 ounces and they have to fit in
one zip top, quart-sized bag.
TSA is relaxing one restriction
by allowing passengers to bring
beverages on the aircraft, if they're
purchased in secure areas.

making some pre-holiday rounds in
Botetourt County.

However instead of riding in his
sleigh yesterday afternoon, he was
gliding a thousand feet in the air, in
a hot air balloon.
St. Nick waved at everyone who
came out to get a glimpse.
Colin Graham of Endeavor Balloons
volunteered to take Santa up for some
last minute inspection.
Just to let you know, Santa
landed safely and is on his way back to
the North Pole to get ready for the big
day.
