CAMP PENDLETON OFFICIALS SAY WUTERICH

TOLD HIS SQUAD TO "SHOOT

FIRST AND ASK QUESTIONS LATER" ...
DURING THOSE CHILLING MOMENTS IN
NOVEMBER 2005.

DOZENS OF CIVILIANS WERE SHOT TO DEATH
IN THEIR HOMES ... INCLUDING WOMEN,
CHILDREN, AND UNARMED MEN.

Teri Okita/Camp Pendleton

Bridge: The legal question has to do
with motive... whether these were
revenge killings of innocent victims or
a case of self-defense by marines who
felt their lives were threatened.

WUTERICH'S LAWYER SAYS THE PUBLIC NEEDS
TO HEAR ALL THE FACTS.

(SOT) Neal Puckett / Attorney

"we maintain the tactics on that day
were appropriate and lawful"

(animation) INVESTIGATORS SAY THE
SHOOTINGS HAPPENED AFTER A ROADSIDE

BOMB KILLED A MARINE ON PATROL. OTHER
MARINES OPENED FIRE ON A CAR

APPROACHING THE SCENE.. AND THEN IN THE
AFTERMATH CAME THE ATTACK ON

IRAQI CIVILIANS IN THE SURROUNDING
HOUSES. TERI OKITA, CAMP PENDELTON
