The Fifth District Republican was
reacting to comments made in response
to a letter he wrote about the newly-
elected Muslim representative from
Minnesota.

Congressman-elect Keith Ellison
wants to hold the Koran during his

swearing in ceremony.

hundreds of his constituents saying,
that "...if American citizens don't
wake up and adopt the Virgil Goode

testing program, and began a review of

say they've nabbed about a dozen drug
dealers in the Bedford area.

Some are suspected of selling
dope across the street from Liberty
High School.

to have been false.

The county's emergency

consider the homeless.

Across the country today, people
remembered homeless and formerly
homeless people who've died in the past
year.

In the Roanoke Valley, dozens
gathered at Coyner Springs Cemetery.

No homeless persons in the
Valley died on the streets this year,
though several died shortly after
finding shelter.

Based on 2004 statistics, about
15 percent of the City of Roanoke lives
in poverty. The Roanoke Regional Task
Force on Homelessness says many are
just one paycheck away from becoming
homeless.
