Former President Gerald Ford has
died at the age of 93.
The only un- elected president in
America's history, Ford picked up the
pieces of Richard Nixon's scandal-
shattered White House.
The 38th president recently
underwent two heart treatments and
battled pneumonia.
He was the longest living
president, followed by Ronald Reagan.
Ford had been living at his
desert home in California, about 130
miles east of Los Angeles.
Ford made several trips to
Southwest Virginia, as a member of the
House of Representatives, as President
and afterward.
