Goodyear's union employees is one step
closer to ending.

VO-NAT About 14-thousand workers voted

today on whether to accept a new
contract from the tire-maker, including
about 22-hundred in Danville.

The communications coordinator
for the United Steelworkers local in
Danville says the contract was ratified
by 68 percent of the voters and that
many of the 22-hundred workers weren't
happy with the deal, but voted out of
necessity.

as early as this weekend.

The Bush administration says it's
being told Sunday could be the day
Hussein faces the gallows.

Iraq's highest court said earlier
this week that the former dictator
should be hanged within 30 days.

In the meantime, there are
concerns that Hussein's execution will
lead to more violence in the war torn
country.

Today five bombs in Baghdad
killed at least 20 Iraqis and wounded
67 others.

Officials say one of the attacks
was a twin bombing along the streets in
a busy market.

Hodges not guilty of sexual or physical

assault against two inmates at the
Roanoke County jail.

The inmates alleged the incidents
happened while Hodges was tutoring them
one- on- one for the G-E-D.

One inmate told the judge Hodges
rubbed his leg before grabbing his
penis during a math session.

The defense poked holes in their
testimony using recorded phone
conversations made shortly after the
alleged incidents- in which no mention
of the assaults were made.

Theater as thousands say farewell to
the Godfather of Soul......

federal judge has cleared the way for
