pay their final respects. The public
was allowed to view Ford's closed
casket and to sign a memorial book.
Ford's body is lying in repose at a
church in Palm Desert California and
will be flown to Washington later today
for funeral services.
Ford will be buried on Wednesday.
He died Tuesday at his home in
California at the age of 93.

week on a proposal that keeps a Texas
plant open for at least another year
and shores up retiree medical benefits.
14-thousand union employees walked
off the job back in October in a
dispute over those and other issues.
The new contract was approved by
about a two-to-one margin.
News of the settlement helped
Goodyear stock rise 2-and-a-half
percent yesterday.

Tornadoes swept across Texas
yesterday leaving lots of damage
behind.

In College Station, there was
damage to an apartment complex, and to
a nearby shopping center.
One of the hardest hit areas was
Limestone County, where trees were
uprooted and homes were damaged. The
Country Sheriff says the tornado killed
one man in that area. And more than a
dozen people were injuried.
President Bush and the First Lady
were taken to an armored vehicle when a
tornado warning was near their Crawford
ranch.

VO NAT Civil Defence personnel travelled
NO SUPER to Peru Friday to distribute emergency
supplies to thousands of people who
were left homeless from heavy floods
this week.
Nearly 6,000 people have been forced to
flee flooded homes in Peru's northern
jungle after several rivers flooded.
No injuries were immediately reported,
however authorities were checking
unconfirmed reports of four people
missing.

woman plotted to have a judge murdered.

is charged with 3-counts of
solicitation to commit murder.

target was 27th Judicial Circuit Court
Judge Joey Showalter.
The sheriff would not speculate
on a motive, but Dunford does have
several pending drug charges against
her and was supposed to go before Judge
Showalter next week.

wind of the plot from one of the people
Dunford tried to hire.

review the status of a teacher cleared
of assault charges.

Jeffrey Hodges not guilty of sexual or
physical assault against two inmates at
the Roanoke County jail.
Hodges teaches kindergarten at
South Salem Elementary School....
