more than a dozen residents are not in
their homes tonight after flooding
causes widespread problems in Danville.

River has crested in Danville.

One of the hardest hit areas was in

the central part of the city,
specifically Water Street

Earlier today, 15 residents had to be
evacuated by rescue boat because the
water was rising on both ends of the
street.

Here at the Carmel Baptist Church,
workers were trying to clean out the
food pantry when disaster struck.

By nightfall, the water began to
recede but there was still quite a bit
of flooding along the Dan River.

Here at this shopping plaza, the
parking was still completely underwater

around seven o'clock, forcing many
businesses to close for the night.

shooting claimed the life of Denver
Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams.

after three A-M local time in Denver.

Authorities say a vehicle pulled
up alongside the white Hummer limousine
Williams was in and opened fire.

Two other people were also shot.

Both were taken to the

suspects and interviewing witnesses.

The 24-year-old leaves behind two
young children.

Carilion Roanoke Community Hospital in
2007.

She weighed in at five pounds,
nine ounces.

General Assembly session.

to visit downtown Blacksburg.

VO-NAT Virginia Tech is planning to

build the Black Box Theatre.

It'll sit on College Avenue
across from the Lyric Theatre.

*CG locator Blacksburg The project is part of an 8-point-7 :08 million dollar deal to renovate
Henderson Hall, the oldest building on
campus.

The theatre will be used by
Virginia Tech drama students to put on
plays, but officials say it will also
breathe new life into the downtown.

Construction will begin this

summer.

The theatre is expected to open
by the fall of 2008.

Pasadena, California to see the 118th
annual Tournament of Roses Parade.

Nature" with 45 floats, 22 marching
bands and the first ever appearance by
Llamas.

The parade began with a moment of
silence in honor of the late President
Gerald Ford.

The parade also paid tribute to
the "Star Wars" movies....the first of
which opened 30 years ago.

Director George Lucas served as
Parade Grand marshal.
