Roanoke lately, you may have noticed
the downtown landscape quickly changing
as the new art museum takes shape.

construction was delayed several
months, we're happy to report the
project is currently on schedule.

The building is being constructed
in elements and the one that's most
noticeable so far faces Williamson
Road.

In the next two months, we're
told the structural steel beams should
all be in place and by the end of the
year the exterior of the building
should be completed.

The project has had plenty of
critics but project organizers hope
that criticism will subside now that
the building is taking shape.

suspect testified against him today.

Aaron Paul Gray is charged in the
shooting death of a 41 year old woman
whose body was found last October in
the Roanoke River.

At a preliminary hearing today,
the defendant's wife testified her
sister-in-law told her to take a bag
out of the trash and get rid of it.

Police say the bag contained
items said to have belonged to murder
victim Karen Elkins.

minivan--- involved in a crash that


killed two people in November.

November 2006 Robert Gene Barker now faces
vehicular manslaughter and vehicular
maming charges.

Both carry a combined maximum
sentence of 15 years.

Police say the minivan he was
driving crossed the center line and hit
another car head on.

Two passengers in that car, Greg
Neil and 15-year old Joel Wayne Nicols
died.

Police had already charged Barker
with DUI.


Prosecutors still expect more
charges to come.

and identity for human remains found in
the woods this past Novermber.

They were from 34 year-old Shawn
Zysk of Craig County.

Two hunters found a human skull
in the woods behind the Food Lion on
Tyler Avenue.

An anthropologist estimated the
bones had been there for approximately
18 months.

The medical examiner has more
testing to determine the cause of
death.

No foul play is suspected.

Hundreds of people turned out to
pay their respects during services
today in Bedford.

Stevens was one of 34 Bedford

junior Senator from Virginia, Jim Webb.

The country's first Muslim
member of Congress was also sworn in.

In a ceremonial photo
opportunity afterward, Keith Ellison

Ellison's plan got the
attention of Virginia congressman
Virgil Goode. Goode said in an email
that there would be many more Muslim
members of congress if illegal
immigration was not stopped.

treatment...in form of a skin
patch...may be on the horizon for
patients suffering from Parkinson's
disease.

A study of 277 people in Canada
and the U-S found that patients wearing
the patch showed significant easing of
their symptoms after six months of
treatment.

Those wearing a placebo saw their
symptoms get worse.

The patch delivers a drug through
the skin that acts like a certain brain

chemical deficient in people with the
disease.

Currently, many parkinson's
patients take pills several times each
day to treat symptoms of the incurable
disease.

The patch is already available
for sale in Germany, Britain, and
Austria.

The maker of the patch says the
company expects to win approval from
the F-D-A.

Scothorn spotted a problem. He noticed
signs of a possible blocked artery, it
looked similiar to this.

I HAD BEEN HAVING DIZZY SPELLS. HE GOT

IT WAS 90 PERCENT BLOCKED HE SENT ME TO

It is not uncommon for doctors to see
what's going on in their patients'

The life style magazine is the

brain child of Phillip Vaught.

He's been publishing a small
magazine in Giles County for four years
and decided it was high time the N-R-V
got its own high end publication.
