Roanoke Valley this afternoon but for
one particular area, one to two inches
could spell trouble.

Wednesday Not even a week ago parts of
southside flooded when the Dan River
spilled over after heavy rain.

Although it has receded some, the
National Weather Service says it won't
take much for it to swell again.

At this time, emergency
coordinators are advising residents in
flood prone areas to move all valuables
to higher ground and be prepared to
evacuate just in case.

arrested three people who they say were
behind a shooting last night on Spanish
Oak Road.

Last Night Authorities confirmed it started
as an argument between two brothers
earlier in the week but escalated last
night with even more people getting
involved.

Randy Stump, a foster father to
one of the brothers sustained the most
serious injury with a gunshot wound to
the hip.

Another man David Hood was also

shot in the leg.

He's been arrested and charged
with malicious wounding of the first
victim.

Two other men, Douglas Howes and
Matthew Coggins were also taken into
custody on similar charges.

GRAPHIC=Fire, Apartment A fire has displaced several

families in northwest Roanoke .

It happened today at the Park Inn
Apartments in the 45 hundred block of
Melrose Avenue.

Fire firefighters responded
around 12:45.

The cause is still under
investigation.

There were no major injuries but
Roanoke EMS has contacted the Red Cross
to assist those families left homeless.

Parkway will be partially closed for a
few weeks.

220 to the Route 221 intersection at
Adney Gap will be closed weekdays
starting tomorrow until January 26th.

Parkway officials said the
closure is neccessary so workers can
safely perform maintenance.


Crews will be removing vegetation
from road shoulders & banks and
cleaning ditch-lines.

Officials say visitation to the
Parkway is at its lowest levels in
winter.
