at least three people are hurt.

The Franklin County Sheriff says
it started as an argument yesterday
afternoon between at least two men at a
home on Spanish Oak Road.

Several hours later at around
seven that argument turned violent.

Police are questioning witnesses
at this point, but confirmed two people
were shot.

One in the leg, the other in the
hip.

A third person was hit in the
head with a steel pipe.

One of the victims had to be
transported to Roanoke Memorial
Hospital.

The Sheriff's office believes as
many as five people were involved.

This Morning Sometime before six o'clock,
crews responded to a fire in the 300
block of Walnut Avenue.

There, crews battled a hay fire
inside a garage-like structure.

Officials do not know who, if
anyone, owns the building.

There are no reports of any
injuries.

find out what sparked a shooting in
broad daylight.

Here's what witnesses told
them....

The 25-year-old victim was

running from a group of males on Meades
Alley which is between North Main and
Worsham.

During the foot chase one of the
suspects apparently pulled a gun and
fired.

All of this happened around 10:45
yesterday morning.

Police say the victim's injuries
aren't life threatening.

a couple Thursday night.

Parkway will be partially closed for a
few weeks.

starting tomorrow until January 26th.

Parkway officials said the
closure is being made so workers can

Officials say visitation to the
Parkway is at its lowest levels in

time.

After Welch unveiled it in 1868,
the painting disappeared until February
of last year.

That's when an anonymous person
discovered it at a Richmond estate sale
and purchased it.

In commemoration of Lee's 200th

birthday this month, he asked museum
officials if they'd like to display it.

It's encased with other Lee
artifacts: gloves he wore during the
Civil War, a hat and a draft of his
letter of resignation to U-S Army
General Winfield Scott in advance
joining the Confederate Army.

donated to the struggling museum, which
officials recently announced will move.

The search is now for a new
location with more exposure to ensure
the largest collection of civil war

public like the portrait.

A wind storm blew into Everett,
Washington Friday night causing power
outages and more than a few close
calls.

A 100-foot tree crushed two cars
and damaged a third when it fell a few
feet away from an apartment building.

Another tree shaved part of a
bedroom right off a house as a family
slept.

Now that family has to find a new
place to live and buy two new cars.

avalanche yesterday made the area
impassable.

Eight-people had to be rescued
from buried vehicles.

But good news- authorities say
they think they've accounted for all
the vehicles that were buried by the
avalanche.

The snow slide knocked two cars

largest ski areas.

Three snow storms in as many
weeks have dumped more than four

feet of snow on parts of Colorado.

Authorities say they haven't had
time to test all slide areas.

21-year-old Mario Danelo was
