- is leaving school a year early.

Calvin Johnson, the 6 foot 5
inch, 235-pound receiver announced
today that he is taking his 45 inch
vertical leap and his blazing speed to
the NFL and giving up his senior year
of college.
Johnson just wrapped up a junior
season in which he had nine catches for
186 yards and two touchdowns in his
final game in the Gator Bowl. He
finished the year with 76 receptions
for 1,202 yards and 15 touchdowns.
He was a first team all-American
and really has nothing else to prove in
the college game

GRAPHIC=HAMILTON NASCAR's tight knit community is
feeling a litttle rough tonight after
the passing of Bobby Hamilton, Senior.
The Nashville, Tennessee native
died last night at the all-too young
age of 49 after a bout with neck and
head cancer.
Rick Mast raced alongside
Hamilton for two decades as the two
worked their way up from the Busch
series to what was then Winston Cup.
Mast told us this afternoon that
Hamilton battled cancer like he drove -
with all his heart.
