GRAPHIC=REDICK J.J. Redick has only played in 9

of Orlando's 36 games this year, and he
has yet to score in double figures for
the Southeast division's first place
team.

But today Redick got some welcome
love from his alma mater.

Duke announced this afternoon that
J.J.'s number 4 jersey will be retired
in a special ceremony on Sunday,
February 4th when the Blue Devils take
on Florida State.

Redick holds both the school and
the Atlantic Coast Conference scoring
records. He's also the N-C-A-A's career
three point king with 457 3-pointers.

His former teammate Sheldon
Williams will have his jersey retired
the week before - making Williams and
Redick the 12th and 13th players to
receive this honor in Duke history.

GRAPHIC=TECH The Virginia Tech Hokies are

trying to get three wins over teams
from the State of North Carolina in a
eight day period to kick off January.

Last Saturday, Tech took care of
Duke, last night they got
UNC-Greensboro, and Saturday the
challenge will be playing with number
one North Carolina.
GRAPHIC=ACC

Heading into this second weekend
of the new year the ACC is upside down
in some respects with Tech and Clemson
unbeaten in the league and Duke winless
at 0-and-2.

It's a challenge each team in the

league is facing to not only win - but
to somehow become a consistent
competitor.
