Glenvar Elementary school Principal
Danny Guard crossed the line when
disciplining her 10 year-old son Josh,

who suffers from autism.

After the questioning, Joshua was made
to clean the toilets, the urinals in
both bathroom and scrub the human feces
off of the wall.

after the school found Josh's name
written on the bathroom stall along
with human feces.

She questions whether her son
committed the acts but says regardless
if he did that the punishment was not
appropriate.

And according to his doctor,
since the incident Josh has suffered
from serious mental anquish.

has been investigating this matter and
released its report this week which
states among other things that this
incident did result in harm to the
child.

Guard's attorney says he plans to
appeal those findings.

Now Keith,an attorney for the
school board says that it is customary

anytime DSS is investigating an
employee for that person to be on
administrative leave.

When the DSS process is complete,
the school board will review and
determine where to go from there.

drowned this week in the Roanoke River
was in the custody of CARILION Police
when he got away from the hospital.

Carilion released results late
today of an internal review of Pierre
Carter's escape and death.

building," the statement reads, "as
Carilion Security officers were
exchanging handcuffs and as his care
was transferred from one officer to
another."

Carilion says, "One set of handcuffs
had been removed and [that] the
patient fled before [a] second set of
handcuffs could be placed on his
wrists."

CITY police confirmed today that
it just happened Officer D-W Ayers was
still in the hospital and saw Carter
leave.

Ayers gave chase and jumped into
the river after the 25-year old
schizophrenic patient.

Carter's uncle and another man found

the body yesterday.

VO-NAT A federal Grand Jury today indicted the

40-year old Daleville woman on
ten-counts of fraud and
money-laundering.

The indictment says Yates sold
insurance, securities and finances
services out of the Member One Credit
Union, though she was employed by a
life insurance company and then briefly
worked for Merrill Lynch.

Government agents have identified 22
victims with a total loss of
one-point-three million dollars.

Yates made headlines last year when
investigators found dead and
malnourished dogs at her Botetourt
County home.

charged with murder in both Tennessee

He was in court this morning in
Knoxville where a judge set his trial
for July 9th.

Lineberry is accused of killing a
school security guard on Halloween
night.

after allegedly he stabbed and beat
Neal Hutton to death in his Galax home.

a blaze that forced a Lynchburg woman

from her home this afternoon.

Crews responded to the 200 block of
Roberts Avenue around 1:15 after a
woman called 9-1-1 to say her house was
on fire.

Flames were already coming from a
back bedroom, but firefighters had it
under control in about ten minutes.

The fire marshal says a cat
apparently knocked over a candle in the
bedroom, igniting the bed and some
clothes.

Police say the driver fell asleep
