a week, a man has died in the Roanoke
River.
The latest incident happend this
afternoon on the 16-hundred block of
Wiley Drive.
Right now it's unclear how he
actually ended up in the water.
Roanoke Police tell us they were
called out around 4 o'clock but when
they got there, several people had
already pulled him out.
He was taken to the hospital
where he was pronouced dead.
An investigation is underway.

Sago Mine explosion shattered the
hearts of a West Virginia town -
another community is now sharing in
that grief.

Tonight emergency crews in
McDowell County recovered the bodies of
two miners who were trapped earlier
this morning.
Officials say they got stuck when
pillars fell in on them.
Thirty-five workers were able to
make it out safely.
The mine is owned by a company
based out of Abingdon, Virginia.
Last year two dozen miners died
while on the job in West Virginia.

North Carolina man who's accused of
doing the unthinkable to his daughter.

37-year-old John Patrick Violette
is under arrest for allegedly
decapitating the four-year-old.
The mother found the girl
yesterday in the trash, then called
9-1-1.
Authorities caught up with
Violette in Washington D-C.
He was camped out in a hotel near
Capitol Hill.
Investigators say they have no
motive for the murder, but Violette
will remain in custody in D.C. pending
an extradition hearing.

disappeared, riding a bike near his
home ... Shawn Hornbeck was found less

St. Louis. ... Shawn told his family
he'd been there all along.
Also found in the apartment ... 13 year
old Ben Ownby. After he disappeared
Monday .. his parents launched an
all-out search.

part time funeral home worker. He's
charged with first degree kidnapping ..
though the FBI says based on what they
found in Devlin's apartment ... federal
charges may be next.
Neighbors in the apartment complex said
they'd seen Shawn Hornbeck around and
assumed he was Devlin's son.
