Furniture will close its last remaining
wood furniture plant.
That report comes from the
Associated Press and other financial
industry websites.
The A-P says about 280 people

Hill Elementary had a bumpy ride home
today after they were involved in a bus
accident.

The students are safe tonight,
but police have charged the bus driver,
62-year-old Leroy Worrell, with
disregarding a stop sign.
The bus was headed east on
Cornell Drive when it collided with a
car coming north on Rutgers Street.
A spokesperson with Roanoke City
Schools says they've never had any
problems with the driver.. however he
will not be operating a bus pending the
outcome of an investigation and court
proceeding.
The driver of the car is also
facing charges for driving with a
suspended license.

2005 Drew Planten was never tried. He killed
himself shortly after his arrest.
This is a civil case, an attempt to
prove the Apartment complex was liable
for Stephanie Bennett's death.
Stephanie's Dad, Carmon Bennett is
suing Bridgeport apartments over poor
lighting, thick shrubs, an unreported
account of a peeping tom and a faulty
window latch.

The Roanoke-native is a woman who isn't
afraid to speak her mind.
And, that's come in handy over the
years.
Wilson is credited with holding city
official accountable, pushing to have
the First Street bridge re-named to
honor Dr.King and pushing to amend
rules of procedure in federal court.
Even though she's stepping down, the
72-year-old says she will continue to
fight for equal rights.

Session at Daytona wrapped up this
afternoon. The fastest car in the
final Test Session was Kurt Busch who
topped the 1-hundred and 91 mile an
hour mark, the only car to do so and he
did it driving the Car of Tommorrow.
Denny Hamlin the Chesterfield
Virginia native had the 7th fastest
Time, last season's Rookie of the Year
turned a number of Heads in his first
full Season in the Nextel Cup Series.
Hamlin swept both races at Pocono and
qualified for the Chase for the
Championship, as well as being in
contention for the Title down to the
last couple of races.
Hamlin must now avoid the
Sophomore Slump and so far things are
going better than expected.
