That's what health officials are
trying to determine at Radford
University tonight.

Dozens of students are sick with
an unknown stomach illness.

A student went to the New River
Valley Medical Center complaining of
severe stomach cramping, diarrhea and
nausea.

Now, the hospital has seen 41

patients, 14 are still being treated at
this hour.

As a precaution, Radford
University has temporarily closed two
of the four restaurants in the Dalton
Hall food court.

The gates were pulled shut and
signs were posted at Aubon Pain
Au-bon-pear and Mean Gene's Burgers.

The New River Valley Health
Department is investigating and has not
diagnosed the illness or determined the
cause.

have very similar symptons.

Doctors are giving them fluids

County Police charged 26 year old

Jonathan James Newman. They say he
burglarized an apartment just hours
after a rescue squad team responded to
an emergency call there.

Now, here's where the story is
unclear, Police say Newman was out with
that rescue squad and the Cave Spring
station says he was not on duty the
night in question.

Spring Rescue Squad station says squad
member Johnathan Newman was not part of
the team that responded to a medical
call on Circle Brook Drive Wednesday
night.

IT WAS NOT HIS ASSIGNED DUTY TEAM. HE
WAS NOT ON ANY APARATUS THAT LEFT OUR
STATION THAT WENT TO THAT CALL AT THAT

POINT IN TIME. I CAN VERIFY THAT
FACTUALLY.

Police say on Thursday morning a
resident in this complex returned home
after being taken to the hospital to
find her apartment burglarized.

Police have charged Newman with
that crime.

They stand behind the arrest and
are confident they have the right man.

However, the department states
that as investigations are conducted,
it is not unusual for conflicting
information to come in.

Now Cave Spring is conducting its
own investigation and is working
closely with the police department.

Pollard, who died in a farming accident
at his home yesterday.

Dave Leitao's team has been
pleasantly surprised at the production
of Freshman Jamil Tucker of late.

Tucker's playing time has risen
dramatically over the last 7 games and
his point production has followed as
well, including a 12 point preformance
against the Terps.

Part of Tucker's improvement has
been aided by the fact that Leitao has
let the First Year play through is
mistakes.
