GRAPHIC=Radford University More than 50 people have showed

up at the N-R-V Valley Medical Center
with an unknown illness, the majority
of those people are Radford University
students.

They had stomach cramps, diarrhea
and were vomiting.

As of late last night, 11 of the
53 people who went to the hospital were
still being treated.

Health officials say they are in
good condition and will eventually be
released.

The University has closed two
restaurants in the food court at Dalton
Hall as a precaution.

The New River Valley Health
District is investigating and they have
not diagnosed the cause or the illness.

is facing child porn charges.

Police say Kevin Scott Morris
faces 20 counts of possession of child
pornography.

He was extradited from Georgia to
South Boston yesterday.

Police say they began
investigating him after a "Development
Authority official" found images of
young females in sexual poses on a
computer in 2005.

Authorities say it was a computer

Morris used when he was the executive
director of the Halifax County
Industrial Development Authority.

He is now the vice president of
economic development for the Gwinnett
Chamber of Commerce outside of Atlanta.

of its members was NOT on duty the
night a Roanoke County woman was
burglarized.

charged 26-year-old Jonathan James
Newman with theft.

Police say Newman stole items
from the woman's apartment hours after
an emergency team took her to the
hospital....items that police say they
found inside Newman's residence.

Police say its not uncommon to
receive conflicting information during
an investigation but they stand behind

the arrest.

But the station is standing
strong, that Newman was not on duty the
night in question.

state of Virginia.

A judge denied a motion to change
the photographer's bond yesterday
afternoon.

Shell is charged with murder in
the death of his girlfriend, model
19-year-old Marion Franklin.

Franklin died of an apparent drug
overdose after a photography shoot in
Shell's Radford studio in June 2003.

The judge did lift a restraining
order yesterday that prohibited Shell
from contacting Franklin's family.

His third attorney in as many
years is requesting the case be
dismissed.

That motion will be heard in
March.

Bobby Pollard, who was killed Thursday
in a tractor accident on his farm near
Blue Ridge.

Pollard spent several years on the
board in the 1980s before moving away
from Bedford County.

When he returned, he was elected
Supervisor again in 1999.

County leaders say he'll be hard to
replace.

would also be issued over the next five
years.

What the governor isn't sure
about is skimming 250- million- dollars
off the general fund.

Cancer Society released a new report
showing cancer deaths were down for the
second year in a row.

There are several reasons for the
decline and a lot have to do with our
own lifestyle choices.

It's estimated this year more
than 35-thousand people in Virginia

will get some type of cancer.

But it doesn't have to be a death
sentence... in fact you can reduce your
risk of getting cancer in the first
place.

A state of emergency has been
declared after extensive rain caused

serious flooding in some parts of
Bolivia.

VO NAT Authorities have begun to
evacuate some citizens in areas where
rivers have burst their banks and
flooded local villages.

No injuries or deaths have been
reported so far.

Bolivian authorities say that the
heavy rainfall could be due to the El
Nino effect.

El Nino appears in the Pacific
Ocean in the late fall and early winter
every few years and can cause great
changes in temperature and atmospheric
pressure.

weather is hitting northern Arizona.

Heavy snow starting falling in
Flagstaff Friday evening.

Some areas forecast to get more
than a foot of snow by the time this
storm passes.

Friday night's snow built

excitement for the opening of the Snow
Bowl Ski Resort. It was slated to open
today, but resort operators say that
isn't going to happen. Operators were
able to get the slopes groomed, but
very strong winds blew all the groomed
snow away, exposing rocks and putting
the slopes in poor condition.

day.

Friday The first in New York City, where a
car smashed into a school bus sending
it careening into a yard. The bus
narrowly missed a house.

Thirty-three developmentally disabled
people were on the bus. One suffered a
fatal heart attack and later died at

the hospital. Five other passengers

struck a pedestrian.

Police say the man was killed when he
stepped out in front of the bus. All of

shot by her grandson, was once married
to the infamous "Hillside Strangler".

67 year-old Mary Castillo called for
help on her cell phone after her
grandson shot her and then killed
himself.

She survived the shooting and is in
stable condition.

But it turns out her former husband and
the boy's grandfather was the Hillside

raping and killing 10 women. Castillo
was married to him in the 60's, prior
to the slayings.
