NATSOT NATSOT PROTEST

RUN02 From raucous protests on campus last
fall, the fight over Randolph-Macon
going co-ed moved to a quieter venue
Tuesday ... Lynchburg circuit court.

That's where attorneys for seven
students and two alumnae were fighting
to keep the school an all-woman's
domain ... claiming Randolph-Macon
broke its contract with students who
thought they were enrolling at a
single-sex school.

But a judge ruled there was no
breach of contract, nor should a court
intervene when a public trust like a
college acts against the wishes of some
of its shareholders.
