GRAPHIC=DEER MANAGEMENT It was controversial from the

beginning, and today it's no different.

We're talking about Roanoke City's
efforts to control the deer population.

VO-NAT Three years ago, the city launched a

deer management program, which to this
date, has cost taxpayers 132- thousand
dollars.

During that time, sharpshooters
killed a total of 436 deer.
