released the football schedules for
this coming season

GRAPHIC=TECH The Virginia Tech Hokies knew they

their first road game would be at
L-S-U, but some may feel that the start
to their season pales in comparison to
the finish.

The Hokies open up with East
Carolina.

Then they'll travel to Baton
Rouge, and then the first half of the
season closes with a trip to Death
Valley to take on Clemson.

TAKE FS GFX 17018 The Hokies finish with five straight
ACC games.

There are back to back Thursday
Night Games against Boston College and
Georgia Tech.

Then Florida State and Miami come

GRAPHIC=Hometown Hoops In this week's edition of

Hometown Hoops weekly we take a look at
what many consider one of the most
over-qualfied Coaching Staffs in the
history of Rec League basketball.

Grant Kittelson catches up with
the Coaching Kepleys - a family that
has worked under Dean Smith, won state
championships, and played college ball
in the A-C-C.

OQ=I'm Grant Kittelson << It's a familiar scene to many
(END SOT) around these parts, A bouncing ball,

Referees, the Clock winding down and
Dick Kepley on the sidelines coaching.

It played out for many years when
He was the head Coach at Jefferson High
School and then Patrick Henry.

Kepley retired from the High
School level, but he is now back as an
assistant to his Son Chuck, who played
for his f at P.H. then he took his game
to Wake Forest. Now Father and Son are
together coaching 9 and 10 year olds
including Chucks Son and Dick's
Grandson.

(CHUCK BITE:2:53:02)

(DICK 2:57:06)

(STANDUP: Most of the Kids probably
don't know what the Elder Kepley
accomplishsed as a Coach here in the
Valley and don't know about Chuck's
playing career, but they do understand
when he talks about who he played
against at Wake Forest.

(CHUCK BITE:2:53:37)

Both Chuck and his Dad won a lot
of games but at this level it's not

about winning

(DICK BITE:2:58:45)

There is no doubt that the
Kepley's are making another generation
want to return to the gym year after
year. With this week's Hometown Hoops
Weekly I'm Grant Kittelson
