her into Botetourt County and assaulted
her.

But members of Washburn's family
who turned out for his first court
appearance, say authorities have the
wrong man.

OQ=hasn't even been tried yet. Authorities say the victim made a

positive identification from a photo
line-up. They collected DNA,
fingerprints and other evidence, but

say it may be a month or more before
testing is complete.

Meanwhile, Washburn could return
to court for a bond hearing next week,
and a preliminary hearing is now
scheduled for late February.

Clifton Forge rape build a composite of
the man she says victimized her.

in an apartment complex outside
Atlanta.

Many of them have no place to call home
tonight.

Fire crews say an entire building was
engulfed in flames. Rescues workers
battled to keep the fire from spreading
even further. One woman jumped from her

tournament opened this afternoon in
Vinton at William Byrd high school.

17 teams in all are taking part
in the annual event that dates back
more than 3 decades.

Most of the schools participating
this year are local - but there are
some outside influences.

the makings of a Hollywood movie -- or
a country song. It involves a man who
among other things, apparently stole
Gayle's tour bus.

Surveillance Tape Here's the bus on surveillance tape at
Lakeland Florida track yesterday.
Police believe Christopher Gay was at
the wheel.

Gay escaped from custody in South
Carolina Sunday, and police think he
was trying to get to Tennessee to see
his dying mother.

They say he stole a tractor-trailer
full of Wal-Mart merchandise and
abandoned it near his mom's house after
a police chase.

Police believe Gay then stole Gayle's
tour bus near Nashville and drove to
the Florida racetrack.
