ESPN In case you missed it last night.
:00 Serena Williams is back. She
convincingly overpowered top-seed and
world number-one Maria Sharapova to win
the Australian Open, 6-1, 6-2.
This is the third Australian Open title
for Serena, having won in 2003 and
2005. She now has eight grand slam
titles.
Williams entered this event ranked
81st in the world after an
injury-plagued 2006. But she served
notice that her power game is still
there. Williams needed just an hour and
three minutes to win.
