going to have to find somewhere else to
dine at least for a while.

A fire earlier today caused
extensive smoke damage throughout the
building.

The fire started shortly after 2
o'clock in the kitchen and spread to
the rest of the restuarant located on
Peters Creek Road.

Within 20 minutes, Roanoke Fire
E-M-S had it under control.

They are still investigating the
cause.

The restaurant is not open on
Sunday's and there were no injuries.

brutal murder of a mentally challenged
man.

Southwest Roanoke.

Along with his body, authorities
reported a large amount of blood
scattered across the bedroom and not

dead.

Police say he died from blunt
trauma.

Roanoke police are still

tagged teamed this afternoon trying to
catch two men who led them on a high
speed car chase.

Authorities say they tried to
stop the driver because his tags were
expired.

But instead of stopping....the
driver 18-year-old Barry Miles Jr. took
off.

Miles eventually crashed his car
into the Countyside Estates Apartment
complex and escaped on foot.

You can see this created a stir
among some of the neighbors especially
since the suspect tried to hide out in
the apartments.

Police managed to catch him and
charge him for obstruction and driving
on a revoked licenese.

No word on whether they caught
the passenger who also took off on

foot.

Around two this morning they went
out to an alley in the 100 block of
North Wills Street after reports of
gunshots.

A man had been shot at least once
- he was rushed to Roanoke Memorial by
helicopter.

No word on his condition.

Also no arrest in this case.

mourning the loss of her husband not
once but twice.

Jean Casey's house on South Barrens
Road.

The robbers not only took her
jewelry but they also stole a red
velvet container - and inside were her
husbands cremated ashes.

He died two years ago and now
Casey is distraught all over again.

shot and spending two days in a
hunter's refrigerator - and now she's
had a close brush with death on a
veterinarian's operating table.

The one-pound female duck stopped
breathing Saturday during surgery to
repair gunshot damage to her wing.

The Vet managed to revive her
after several tense moments of CPR.

Perky made her way into headlines
last week after a hunter's wife opened
her refrigerator door and the

was driving a high speed jet car at 300
miles an hour for a British tv show
when the front tire blew out.

The car spins off the road and

see Hammond inside the car taking the

He suffered brain damage and was

recovery.
