(END SOT) asked is, Are steel traps legal?

The answer yes. The Virginia
Department of Game and Inland Fisheries
has several guidelines however trappers
must follow.

video:

The trap we aired yesterday had what's
called a rubber jaw and experts we
spoke with say because it's rubber,
it's a lot less painful than perhaps a
steel jaw.

(GFX 2) Also, viewers wanted to
know....

How is it that coyotes are
attracted to the trap and not for
instance a dog?

Again the Department of Game says
while there's no full proof way to keep
other animals out of the trap, there
are ways to make sure coyotes are more
attracted -

(b-roll of man planting trap)

from the way the trap is planted
into the ground to spraying the area
near the trap with coyote urine. The
scent entices other coyotes.

While the state does not regulate
how many coyotes are trapped and killed

each year, officials say nearly six
thousand were killed by hunters in
2006. Hollani Davis News 7.>>

*CG locator Ferrum

Students and the public can take
advantage of the medical and pharmacy
services provided here.

It's also open to people of all ages
regardless of their ability to pay.

The lack of healthcare in the Ferrum
area is what led Ferrum College and the
Laurel Fork Health Commission to team
up to open this facility.

The center is located on the ground

floor of the campus chapel.
