18-year-old Andrew Washburn packed the
Botetourt County Circuit Courtroom for
his bond appeal.

The prosecution argued the victim
had identified Washburn out of a photo
line-up and given the seriousness of

the charges he would be a danger to the
community.

Washburn's attorney, Deborah
Caldwell-Bono argued none of the
evidence gathered by police is a match
to Washburn and he would be better
served under house arrest.

Liberty IS growing at a rapid rate,
enough so that they'll top 10-thousand
students next fall, a full three years
ahead of schedule.

Because of that, Liberty has to
renew its conditional use permit with
the city, and both sides are already
talking about issues such as student
housing and pedestrian and vehicular
traffic.

The school has also floated the

idea of donating land for a civic
center in the area, that either
Campbell County or the city of
Lynchburg would pay to build ... and
Liberty would rent out.

Apparently some football fans at the
Art Institute of Chicago haven't.

The lion stautes outside the
institute were supposed to be decked

out today in new Bear's helmets to
celebrate the Super Bowl.

Unfortunately the custom made helmets
did not fit.

They cracked when museum workers
tried to put them on in the cold
weather.

The designers will try again

the woman who put the store on the map.

celebrated her one hundredth birthday.

Friends and family from the
community and across the state stopped

County leaders also recognized
her for her service to the community
