Department will resume their search
this morning for the body of an infant,
after searching a landfill yesterday.

The new-born baby was allegedly
tossed into a dumpster last week.
The Sheriff's office says the
baby was believed to have been
delivered by a college aged female in a
public restroom.
According to deputies,
authorities got the information about
the baby Sunday night from friends of
the mother.

near the U-V-A campus may be related,
according to Charlottesville Police.

VO NAT Police say a white male grabbed a
woman "in a sexual manner" as she tried
to enter a Wertland Street apartment.
Her screams helped others chase him
off.
A short time later, a second UVA
student was grabbed and fondled nearby
along West Main Street. She broke free
and got home safely.

Clifton Forge man accused of rape and
malicious wounding.
But his family believes he's
innocent, and his attorney says she
will try again to win his release.

taken into custody last week.
Investigators believe he is the
person who abducted a woman from a
parking lot in Clifton Forge, and then

The Board of Supervisors is
currently considering the idea as a way
to keep the population down.
In the last few years some say
the number of coyotes have nearly
tripled in the area.
Franklin County certainly
wouldn't be the first to implement a
bounty program.
Supervisors plan to talk more
about it at their February 20th
meeting.

proven to have negative effects on your
blood cholesterol.
Some fried, saut�ed and grilled
foods at Tech's dining halls are trans
fat FREE.
The goal is to eventually
eliminate trans fat while maintaining
the current variety of foods.
Trans fat is created when
vegetable oils are hydrogenated.
Restaurants in New York City are
required by law to eliminate it from
foods.
A bill is currently under study
in Richmond that would remove trans fat
from public schools in Virginia.

GRAPHIC=Fire Investigation Investigators now say that a
fryer may have caused the fire at
Parker's Seafood in Roanoke.

The fire broke out Sunday
afternoon just after two o'clock inside
the kitchen.
The restaurant, located on
Peter's Creek Road was closed at the
time so no one was injured.
Yesterday, the owner and an
insurance adjuster were on hand to
asses the damage.
Fire investigators now need to
determine whether the fryer
malfunctioned or was simply left on.
The owner says it could be two to
three months before the restaurant
re-opens.

raided a fight in Mecklenburg County
where they seized 40- thousand dollars,
found alcohol violations and detained
