booey was found shot to death inside

his North Main Street convenience store
the night of January 20th.

Police say it's possible robbery
was the motive in his death.

handed down indictments against
23-year-old Anthony Antwan Fitts.

He's charged with first degree
murder and using a firearm in the
commission of a felony.

explosion at a Raleigh County
convenience store may have been
evacuating the building when the blast
occurred.

Tuesday Tuesday's explosion at the Flat
Top Little General in Ghent, West
Virginia killed four people.

They include two volunteer
firefighters and two men working on a
propane tank outside the building.

Four workers from inside the
store remain in critical condition, and
a firefighter is hospitalized in
Charleston.

The State Fire Marshal says it
appears that gas entered the store,
became trapped, and somehow ignited.

Virginia's Senate has approved a
bill that would ban them from talking
on their cell phones while driving.

the County's Animal Shelter, and how
excited the county was about adding the
first ever adoption specialist to the
payroll.

Sherry Slaughter came with
experience, formerly volunteering at
the Floyd County Humane Society.

The goal was to have Slaughter go
into schools and teach responsible pet
ownership, as well as extend hours at
the shelter.

Frank Cassell is asking a federal judge
to move his trial from Roanoke to
Charlottesville.

Yesterday, his attornies argued
that "extensive. prejudicial media
coverage" will make it very difficult
to find an impartial jury in southwest
Virginia.

Cassell will face charges that
include money laundering and
obstruction of justice when he goes on
trial in June.

Prosecutors want to keep the case
in Roanoke, but say that Abingdon would
be the best alternative.

Judge James Turk will ultimately
decide, but yesterday said he's not

sure about moving it anywhere.

new job.

has passed a bill that would re- name
the park the A. Victor Thomas- Smith
Mountain Lake Park.

Vic Thomas represented Roanoke
for 30- years in the General Assembly.

He died last Spring.

Some fear the name change would

the park.
