run....a Roanoke County fugitive is
back in police custody.

Adrian Cox escaped from the
county jail while he was on work detail
as a janitor.

Police caught up with him
yesterday afternoon in Myrtle Beach.

He was hiding out in a motel.

Authorities say someone at the
motel grew suspicious and called 9-1-1.

Cox is facing charges for his
escape as well as grand larceny - he's
said to have stolen a car to get to
South Carolina.

Office have broken up a possible
robbery ring in the Madison Heights
area.

Blowing snow made it a traffic
nightmare for drivers Saturday in
Colorado Springs.

The weather was warmer Saturday
throughout much of Colorado. The wind
was the only problem as it picked up
snow causing poor visibility for
motorists.

A high wind warning was in effect for
most of the day. Some highways were
shut down. The wind is expected to calm
down Monday.

Two backcountry skiers who were
caught in an avalanche Saturday have
been taken to a Salt Lake City
hospital. The men were stuck for hours
on an 11,000 foot peak.

An extensive search and rescue
effort was underway as soon as one of
the men called for help on his cell
phone Saturday morning.

The altitude and strong winds
kept rescuers from reaching them for
hours. The sheriff's department said
wind gusts reached 80 miles per hour.

GRAPHIC=Iraq "Bombing" Clean up continues in Baghdad

after at least 13-people were killed.

This comes after bombings and
shootings around Baghdad, including
four-police officers killed by a
roadside bomb.

Yesterday saw one of the worst
bombings of the war.

More than 130-people died when a
suicide truck bomber plowed into a
Baghdad marketplace and set off a ton
of explosives.

Hundreds of other people were
wounded.

The attack comes in advance of
the much-publicized start of a joint
U.S. - Iraqi push to bring stability to
Iraq's capital.

The goal is to silence Sunni
bombers and Shiite shooters.

defense for recent controversial

of his schedule to address Democrats at
yesterday's convention.

He told the group, despite their
opposing ideals they do have one thing
in common and that is do what's best
for America.

overseas.

They spent yesterday collecting
donations to compile care packages.

to the D-Day Memorial is the Virginia
Tech Corps of Cadets.

Two years ago, then-Cadet Anthony
Madeira visited the Memorial when he
learned it was millions of dollars in
debt.

He and his peers got to work,
raising money at football games and
around campus.

So far, they've raised close to
150 thousand dollars.

Madeira has since graduated, but
cadets continue the tradition he
started.
