CONSUMER WATCH 7 ANIMATION Kimberly, the internet allows
consumers to choose from a wide-open
global marketplace of goods and
educated themselves to make informed
purchases.
But the open market also produces
negative results in the form of
fraudulent claims, misleading
advertising and substandard
workmanship.
Ultimately, consumers have the
responsibility to provide protection
for their own transactions.
The Office of Consumer Affairs
offers these tips when problems arise.
TAKE FS GFX TAKE FS GFX #1 - "Don't Delay."
*CG 11550 The first one is "Don't Delay."
Many business set time limits for
customer complaints after a purchase.
If you have an issue, don't miss
the deadline.
TAKE FS GFX TAKE FS GFX #2 - "Identify the problem"
Identify the problem and how you
want it resolved.
Are you looking for a refund?
Can the item be repaired or replaced?
TAKE FS GFX TAKE FS GFX #3 - "be prepared"
The most effective complaints are
the most thorough.
Be prepared. Have copies ready
of all relevant information...
Contracts, receipts, cancelled checks.
TAKE FS GFX TAKE FS GFX #4 - "Communicate"
Communicate your problem with the
person who sold you the item.
If that does not work out, then
ask to speak to someone at the next
level.
TAKE FS GFX TAKE FS GFX #5 - "put it in writing"
If the call or visit does not
produce the results you want, put it in
writing.
Send a letter to the company
stating the problem and the desired
solution.
TAKE FS GFX TAKE FS GFX #6 - "stay calm..."
Keep your cool.
Remember, you attract more bees
with honey than vinegar.
Stay calm and polite.
Hostility may slow the process.
TAKE FS GFX TAKE FS GFX #7 - "keep track"
Keep track of everything.
Maintain a file of information
regarding your complaint.
That means notes on
conversations, copies of letters, keep
a log of phone calls and who you spoke
with.
TAKE FS GFX TAKE FS GFX #8 - "be ready"
Number eight on the Office of
Consumer Affair's list is "be ready to
negotiate.
The OCA advises, a business may
not be able to give you the exact
resolution you are looking for, but it
may offer a suitable substitute.
TAKE FS GFX TAKE FS GFX #9 - "get specific"
Finally, get specific.
If the business agrees to a
resolution, get the details in writing
and hold onto it.

Other viewers voiced their opposition
to trapping, including a viewer from
Buchanan:
"I was not prepared to look up and
stare into the eyes of a suffering and
terrified animal caught in one of man's
cruelest inventions. "
A few viewers did defend the idea of
bounties and trapping:
"If the story had shown what a coyote
does to livestock (hassling calves
until they collapse), wildlife
(dragging down small deer) or eating
house pets, I doubt the community would
have seen the coyote as a benign
creature which shouldn't be trapped."
And a viewer from Lynch Station wrote:
"The sad thing about all of this is
these are the same people that watch
the news night after night and see
rapes, murders, and community
catastrophes and have nothing to say,
but let a coyote with a rubber jaw trap
on its paw be seen on TV and they
scream bloody murder."

the Consumer Watch 7 Report.
LIVE=BOB FULL AT BAM LIVE FULL
CONSUMER WATCH 7 ANIMATION Kimberly, the internet allows
consumers to choose from a wide-open
global marketplace of goods and
educated themselves to make informed
purchases.
But the open market also produces
negative results in the form of
fraudulent claims, misleading
advertising and substandard
workmanship.
Ultimately, consumers have the
responsibility to provide protection
for their own transactions.
The Office of Consumer Affairs
offers these tips when problems arise.
TAKE FS GFX TAKE FS GFX #1 - "Don't Delay."
*CG 11550 The first one is "Don't Delay."
Many business set time limits for
customer complaints after a purchase.
If you have an issue, don't miss
the deadline.
TAKE FS GFX TAKE FS GFX #2 - "Identify the problem"
Identify the problem and how you
want it resolved.
Are you looking for a refund?
Can the item be repaired or replaced?
TAKE FS GFX TAKE FS GFX #3 - "be prepared"
The most effective complaints are
the most thorough.
Be prepared. Have copies ready
of all relevant information...
Contracts, receipts, cancelled checks.
TAKE FS GFX TAKE FS GFX #4 - "Communicate"
Communicate your problem with the
person who sold you the item.
If that does not work out, then
ask to speak to someone at the next
level.
TAKE FS GFX TAKE FS GFX #5 - "put it in writing"
If the call or visit does not
produce the results you want, put it in
writing.
Send a letter to the company
stating the problem and the desired
solution.
TAKE FS GFX TAKE FS GFX #6 - "stay calm..."
Keep your cool.
Remember, you attract more bees
with honey than vinegar.
Stay calm and polite.
Hostility may slow the process.
TAKE FS GFX TAKE FS GFX #7 - "keep track"
Keep track of everything.
Maintain a file of information
regarding your complaint.
That means notes on
conversations, copies of letters, keep
a log of phone calls and who you spoke
with.
TAKE FS GFX TAKE FS GFX #8 - "be ready"
Number eight on the Office of
Consumer Affair's list is "be ready to
negotiate.
The OCA advises, a business may
not be able to give you the exact
resolution you are looking for, but it
may offer a suitable substitute.
TAKE FS GFX TAKE FS GFX #9 - "get specific"
Finally, get specific.
If the business agrees to a
resolution, get the details in writing
and hold onto it.
