I can say that from experience. We
almost completely spun out earlier
tonight on alternative 220 in Botetourt
County so take it from me you don't
want to be out on the roads.

Road crews however are trying their
best. This video was shot earlier
tonight at the public works facility in
Roanoke City.

Plows were lining up one by one to
reload on salt.

The roads clearly need it. Many
neighborhood streets are in pretty bad
shape even the main roads like 581 saw
accumlating snow.

In fact, it got so bad many truckers
were exiting the interstate at the
Troutville truck stop and calling it a
night.

For the most part, drivers are
staying off the roads. Those
venturing out are finding a number of
accidents and cars over the embankment.

them....not too many people on the
roads right now.

Most folks made it home from work
safely.

It was those who ventured out
later in the evening most likely ran
into some problems.

Here's a what it looked like
earlier tonight...

layer of snow on the road....traffic
was slowing down...but most dirvers we
talked too weren't real concerned at
that point.

But the snow showers didn't let
up....and several hours later the roads
were completely white.

You could not see the lines on
the road in Giles or Montgomery
Counties.

State Police say those conditions
lead to this single vehicle accident
along Route 460 in Giles County
tonight.

Three people were in this van

when police say the driver lost
control.

The vehicle flipped over a guard
rail and down a steep hill.

First responeders say it was a
difficult rescue.

dangerous for seniors.

As we age our bodies don't do as
good of job at regulating body
temperature. And it can be even worse
for those on certain medications or
with physical conditions like diabetes
and heart disease.

The L-O-A Area Agency on Aging is
doing its best to help seniors stay
warm.

Thanks to a 50-thousand dollar grant
from Foundation for the Roanoke Valley,
the agency now has money to buy space
heaters and pay the heating bills for
some low-income seniors.

SHE APPROACHED AN APPARENT ROMANTIC
RIVAL, COLLEEN SHIPMAN, IN A PARKING
LOT AT ORLANDO AIRPORT. AUTHORITIES SAY
THE BAG CONTAINED A STEEL MALLET, A
BUCK KNIFE WITH A FOUR INCH BLADE AND A
B-B GUN THAT RESEMBLED A 9-MILLIMETER..
NOWAK'S ATTORNEY TOLD THE COURT.. THE
PHYSICAL EVIDENCE DOES NOT MEAN NOWAK
HAD INTENT TO KILL. --SOT-- These

things were in the duffle bag. And they
didn't leave the duffle bag. (BUTT) And
there is no evidence she intended to do
anything other than have a talk.

900 MILES AND URINATED IN DIAPERS TO
AVOID STOPPING. OFFICERS SAY PROBABLE

arrest on charges that he used a stun
gun on his 18 month old son.

put their 15 game winning streak on the
line against Patrick Henry.

At the end of the First Half
Andre Edwards the Transfer from
Franklin County will hit the 3-pointer
for Fleming to give the Colonels a 4
point lead going to the break.

Mickey Hardy's club would
continue to stroke it from the outside
in the second Half, Troy Daniels would
hit the 3-pointer from the Corner and
the Colenels opened up a 10 point lead.

But Patrick Henry would come all
the way back to take a 2 point lead
