It happened in the 53-hundred
block of Hawthorne Road at Hawthorne
Towers.

Residents at the apartment
complex had to stand outside while fire
crews made sure the building was safe.

Apparently, there was water
damage to 12 rooms -- and fire and
smoke damage to one room

Residents from four of those
apartments have been displaced, but
they'll be staying with friends in the
complex.

Authorities say the fire started

from cooking oil left on a stove.

asked for a change of venue, saying
that the large amount of news coverage
could prejudice potential jurors.

But in a ruling filed
yesterday, Judge James Turk said
although there has been a significant
amount of media coverage, it has not
created the extreme circumstances that
warrant a move.

Cassell's trial on money

One of the girls testified Tran
massaged her legs and touched her

But several witnesses said the
store is too open and it would not be
possible for Tran to have molested the
women.

And the defense provided evidence
that Tran wasn't even in the store that
night.

A jury of six men and six women

found him not guilty.
