nearly every school district in the
Roanoke and New River Valley's had a
two hour delay.

temperature at the bus stops wasn't

much different.

In Blacksburg it was 7 degrees at
7:00 in the morning, and by 9:30 the
temperature had only gone up about 3 or
4 degrees.

Even so, many parents told us

the slight rise of the mercury.

School Board is scheduled to vote on
construction of the new William Fleming

High School, there are new questions
about funding for the project.

remains unclear whether the city will
provide the additional 15 million
dollars needed for the project.

School officials say they thought
that issue was decided last September,
when they agreed to cap the cost at 57-

Covington.

Today, Covington police
announced the arrest of Antonio "Tony"
Smith.

Investigators say he wounded
Troy L. Helton, Senior on January 28.

scene of a train derailment in West
Virginia--some of the tanker cars
contained toxic chemicals.

Residents in the town of Handley are
advised to evacuate as a precaution,
while authorities determine if there's
any danger to the public.

So far, no injuries have been
reported, and officials say the tankers
aren't leaking.

A spokesman for C- S- X says 11 of
the 18 cars that derailed just before 5
this morning contained hazardous
materials.

The train was traveling from
Richmond to Cincinnati.

government says it was inadequate.

Callahan got the job by bidding

She appeared before a Florida judge
this morning, answering charges of

stalking and attacking another woman.

Astronaut Lisa Nowak went from soaring
in a spacesuit, to landing in a

blue, prison jumpsuit.

The 43-year-old married mother of
three, who flew on the Space Shuttle

last year, was arrested after allegedly
trying to kidnap her rival in

what appears to be a love triangle with

another astronaut.

This morning a Florida judge ordered
her released on 15-thousand-five

hundred dollars bond on the condition
she stay away from the other woman.

(NATSOUND FROM COURT)

Judge: YOU UNDERSTAND? Nowak: YES.

Police say Nowak was involved with
astronaut William Oefelein who flew

on a different shuttle mission last
year. The two, who are both in the

Navy, had trained together. He�s not
married.

According to the arrest records, Nowak
found out the other woman,

Colleen Shipman, was flying from
Houston to Orlando yesterday. So, Nowak

hopped in her car and raced the 900
miles to confront Shipman at the

Orlando Airport.

Authorities say she took a page out of
the astronaut playbook by wearing

diapers in the car so she wouldn�t have
to stop to go to the bathroom.

Astronauts wear diapers during launch
and re-entry.

Dressed in a wig and trench coat, Nowak
allegedly caught up with Shipman

in the airport garage and sprayed
pepper spray into her car.

Nowak was also found carrying a steel
mallet, a BB gun, a four inch

folding knife, three to four feet of
rubber tubing and large garbage

bags.

Before going into space for the first
time, Nowak spoke to CBS news

about looking forward to going up.

Six of the victims were children.

the single- story home around three
this morning in Bardstown, which is
about 40 miles southeast of Louisville.

more child pornography charges.

Police say 34 year old Kevin Scott
Morris faces five felony counts of

sexual exploitation of children in
Gwinnett County, Georgia.

Morris already was on bond and house
arrest for 20 counts of child
pornography, after images were found on
a laptop he used at work in Halifax
County.

Morris was arrested in South Boston
last month, and was released on

bond.

A spokesman in Georgia says forensic
detectives found numerous explicit
pictures of children on Morris'
personal computer.

retiring Norm Lineburg.

Appropriately, Saunders is a

Matt Saunders also is the younger
brother of former William Campbell and
J.J. Kelly head coach Kevin Saunders.
