a Bedford County family killed in a
fire Wednesday night.

29-year-old Sharon Ayers and her
daughters, 11-year-old Ashley and
four-year-old Jennifer were killed when
their Huddleston home caught fire on
Pecks Road.

Yesterday, investigators were
looking for clues as to what caused the
fire.

As crews sifted through the
rubble, Joann Rider came to remember
her best friend.

out a fire at a junk yard.

began around 4 yesterday afternoon.

That's on Bill Tuck Highway.

Crews say no one was injured.

NO SUPER And it looks like a brush fire
VO-NAT got out of control and burned a mobile


home to the ground yesterday afternoon
in Carroll County.

According to the owner, the
mobile home was used for storage only.

Firefighters had to spray down
nearby homes and cars to keep the
flames at bay.

The Carroll County sherif's
department is investigating the
incident.

Last Month The committee simply took no
action on Senator Brandon Bell's bill
that bans smoking in restaurants and
most indoor public places.

The House has already passed
Delegate Morgan Griffith's bill that
requires restaurant owners to post
signs warning customers if they allow
smoking.

Last night a five- member panel
suggested Bell try to work something

out with Griffith, but the Roanoke
County senator says he doubts there's
enough time left in the session.

Even if it doesn't happen this
year, Bell says he believes momentum is
on his side.

News Seven was the first to tell
you about the lost Giant Schnauzer,
Hope.

*CG locator Roanoke Co. A few weeks ago, 80-year-old Jean Angle
was coming home to Roanoke from picking
up the dog at a New York rescue
shelter, *CG locator Botetourt Co. when she wrecked along Interstate 81 January 24 near the Buchanan exit... Hope
disappeared in all of the chaos.

Jean spent the next two weeks
canvassing the area and found out a
trucker picked Hope up....But the
company wouldn't release the woman
driver's information.


That's when law enforcement
in Botetourt County got involved.. they
traced the dog to Florida and
yesterday, Jean was reunited with Hope.

imposed.

A federal judge granted a
