BRUISES, THE SHERIFF'S

OFFICE SAYS THEY�RE FINE.

CREWS FOUND FIVE OTHER CLIMBERS IN
THEIR PARTY SUNDAY AFTERNOON � ALL IN
GOOD CONDITION. THE RESCUED ALSO HAD
LOCATING DEVICES THAT

HELPED IN THE SEARCH.

LOCALS KNOW HOW TREACHEROUS MOUNT HOOD
CAN BE IN THE WINTER.

LAST DECEMBER, RESCUERS SCOURED THE

GRAPHIC=Fatal Fire Investigators continue to look

into a weekend fire which took the life
of one man and sent a woman to the
hospital.

Yesterday Fire officials aren't releasing
names, but according to family members

- Marcus Harper was killed in the fire
which broke out in the 600-block of
Centre Avenue early yesterday morning.

Harper's girlfriend, Rochelle
Preston was also injured in the fire.

Preston is reportedly pregnant.

She's in critical condition at
the UVA Medical Center.

Investigators say the fire
started in an outbuilding where a
mattress was located.

Damage is estimated at
20-thousand dollars.

involving police Sunday in Roanoke and
now three Roanoke City Police officers
are on administrative leave becuase of
it.

Sunday Today, the department released
the names of those officers involved.

They are J-A Crotts, D-J
Blackford and L-K Brown.

All three responded to a home on
the 1700 block of Carroll Avenue after
a call about a man with a gun.

When they arrived, authorities
say the suspect shot at officer Crotts.

Crotts then returned fire
-hitting the man.

While the police made their way
back down the hallway, authorities say
the suspect ran to another room and
fired the gun again.

Eventually police came across a
seven-year-old in the home who had been
shot.

They're not releasing the names
or conditions of the child or gunman.

Blue.. Five days and counting and still
dozens of cancelled flights- and
thousands of frustrated passengers.

There was some good news though..
some Jet Blue planes took off..... but
out of 600 scheduled fights on this
president's day the airline had to
cancel about 140.

The airline is still reeling from
that Valentines Day storm.. that forced
it to cancel hundreds of fights-
passengers were left stranded on
planes.. some for more than ten hours.
They could see the terminal but were
not allowed out.

Jet Blue's founder says he's
mortified by the meltdown- and blamed
poor communications.

college basketball poll is out and the
Virginia Cavaliers are finally back in
the mix. The Cavs are ranked 24th this
week, and 19th in the Coaches' poll
that was released this afternoon.

Virginia Tech falls out of the

top 25 after yesterday's debacle at
N.C. State.

Duke is also back in the mix.
After dropping out last week - Duke
returns at number 18 in the AP and 17
in the coaches' poll.

Yesterday the Blue Devils beat
Georgia Tech and got Coach Mike
Krzyzewski his 700th career win.

native Khadijah Whittington.

The former Fleming star leads the

long time NFL coach Norv Turner.

Today, the Chargers hired the
former Redskins and Raiders boss to
coach what is possibly the most
talented team in the NFL.

Redskins head coach from 1994 and 2000.
During that time in Washington, his
teams won 49 games and lost 59 and made
the playoffs just once. He was fired

million roster. Most of his career he
has been labeled as one of those guys
who is a great assistant, but not a
great head coach. He was 9 and 23 with
the Raiders before he fired in Oakland.

customs officials in Australia.
