They not only helped uncover
centuries-old gravestones and walls,
they became a big hit with tourists...

has been plaguing the surrounding
neighborhood for years.

Somehow, the dogs got inside the
fence that surrounded the goats'
hillside ... and apparently just killed
them for sport.

popular part of a trip to Lynchburg's
most popular tourist spot.

For three years, Alpine goats
roamed this hillside, accomplishing
what human workers couldn't -- clearing
it of its tough overgrowth ... and
charming visitors with their friendly
antics.

But today, their pen is starkly
empty ... two days after wild dogs

killed three goats and two sheep inside
their fenced-in area of the cemetery.

One of the goats escaped, and
animal wardens were able to shoot and
kill one of the dogs involved in the
attack.

But even in a place that
celebrates death, the demise of the
goats is a tough blow to suffer.

ever in an animated, religious and
bizarre courtroom appearance.

He has always maintained that
police are trying to trump up charges
against him because of what his
brother, William Morva, is accused of
-- killing a sheriff's deputy and
hospital security officer -- and he
continued that today.

He called Commonwealth's Attorney
Brad Finch satanic and an evil man.

He said he is being victimized
and terrorized and that police can not
be trusted.

After being sentenced, he had
this to say while being taken back to
jail.

An inmate testified Morva told
him he would retaliate against the
judge, prosecutor and even family
members of everyone involved in the
legal process.

Brad Finch told the judge Michael
was fixated on retribution and revenge

Morva says the inmate is lying
and he was taken out of context.

More than 200- million dollars a
year will go to maintenance - V-Dot's
biggest expense.

In all the statewide plan
dedicates 760- million dollars for
road, rail and transit enhancements
next year.

Governor Kaine has already
expressed concerns with the plan,
leaving open the possibility of sending
down a new plan, but negotiators call
the compromise the last chance to get
something done..

sued a sheriff's deputy for 10-million
dollars.

Mark and Cheryl Hunsberger claim
they found Deputy J-A Wood and another
man standing in their 10-year old
daughter's room at one A-M.

awakened by their daughter screaming
and ran to her room.

"There Mr. Hunsberger found
Deputy Wood in full uniform- - standing

in his daughter's doorway- -holding a
flashlight while..." the other man,

The Sheriff promised results of
an investigation within two weeks.
Three weeks have passed since the
incident without word from the Sheriff.
